It is a violation of Board Rule 6000.13 to copy or give to other applicants or third parties any of the embedded questions or answers or to make use of any such materials that may have been shared with you by others. The videos and embedded questions are copyrighted. Registration is a separate step that must be done through the Applicant Services Portal. Keep in mind that completing the NYLC does not automatically register you for the NYLE. As a reminder, your viewing of the NYLC is audited. If, however, you opt to start the NYLC within 72 hours of any given deadline and then experience problems related to any technical issue, including high volume concurrency, the deadline will NOTÄ«e extended. It is therefore highly recommended that you give yourself several weeks to watch the NYLC at a relaxing pace to fully absorb all of the material. It is important that you understand the benefits of the New York Law Course (NYLC). Users who have advanced videos or who have failed to watch videos in their entirety, including users who used the scroll bar on any device including a phone, have been caught in the Board's electronic audits and have been the subject of misconduct charges that have resulted in the above mentioned penalties. Please note that the NYLC was not designed to be viewed on a cell phone. If a user experiences technical problems while watching the videos it is incumbent on the user to contact the Board office immediately to report any issue and seek assistance. Penalties may include requiring you to repeat the NYLC in its entirety, nullification of your registration for the NYLE, nullification of your NYLE score, a period of suspension from repeating the NYLC and/or NYLE, and disclosure of your misconduct to the Appellate Division in New York having jurisdiction over your application for admission and to other Failure to view each segment of each lecture in its entirety and at its normal speed may result in the institution of misconduct charges under Board Rule 6000.13. Advancing or speeding up the video by any means is strictly prohibited. Your time viewing each video segment will be audited by the Board. You must view each lecture in its entirety and at its normal speed. Once an embedded question is correctly answered for a particular segment, that segment cannot be re-watched. The NYLC consists of approximately 17 hours of video lectures with embedded questions that must be answered correctly before you may continue viewing the lecture. Completion of the NYLC is required in order to obtain a license to practice law in the State of New York.
